February 21, 2015, 6:00pm-11:30pm, Schooner Show Room, Casino Nova Scotia, 1983 Upper Water Street, Halifax, NS B3J 3Y5
The 2015 Chinese New Year Banquet (Year of the Sheep) will be held on February 21, 2015, 6:00 pm – 11:30 pm, at Nova Scotia Casino, 1983 Upper Water Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3J 3Y5. The Chinese Society of Nova Scotia has been successfully organizing this event for decades. The banquet program features greetings by distinguished guests, dinner, cultural performance, a live band and ballroom dancing. Highlights of the banquet in past years have been published on the Society’s website. Detailed information of this year’s banquet will be available on the website http://www.cs-ns.com/2015banquet.
The purpose of this event is to strengthen the linkage between the Chinese Society and the business communities, and to showcase Chinese cultural traditions in Nova Scotia. With an objective to preserve and promote Chinese culture in Nova Scotia, the Chinese Society of Nova Scotia, established in 1974 as a non-profit organization, has been striving for excellence in all dimensions. The Society has frequently organized successful events and has been actively involved in many cultural and sports activities. The large Chinese community in Nova Scotia has always contributed to the development of business and cultural society in our province. Our achievements have been recognized by governmental offices and business associations. Four members have been awarded the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, and a number of members have been recognized for their excellent voluntary services in Nova Scotia. The membership of the fast growing society has extended to many areas and is composed of diverse professions: from restaurant attendants to construction workers, university students, professors, nurses, doctors, dental assistants, electricians, mechanics, bankers, IT managers, stay-at-home moms, etc. It is a source of pride that some of our members are successful business owners who recently emigrated from China.
This is your opportunity to sponsor and exhibit at this prestigious event. As usual, we are expecting more than 300 guests to attend the annual event. Among the attendees are government officials, business owners, and individuals who are interested in Chinese traditions. This event has drawn a great deal of media exposure. Activities organized by the Chinese Society have been featured in the Halifax Chronicle Herald, and on CBC, Eastlink TV, etc.
As a sponsor, you will not only be able to communicate with other businesses that are already engaged in business with our Chinese community, but also you will be recognized as a strong supporter for the Society’s wellbeing. Your participation in sponsoring the event will be very beneficial by bringing your business focus at a broad level to the Chinese Society and its supporters. We encourage you to share this event with us, enjoy the great local hospitality and delicious food, and experience a most delightful and traditional Chinese celebration.
