Dear Members and Friends:
Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Chinese Society of Nova scotia has been successfully held on October 7, 2017. Thanks for your trust re-electing me as President for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. An executive committee of the Chinese Society of Nova Scotia for this fiscal year has been formed after AGM.
Thanks to the dedicated works from the 2016-2017 executive committee members and many volunteers, a number of activities, such as the Bowling Night, the Christmas Gala, the Chinese New Year Banquet, the Mother’s Day Celebration, the Dragon Boat Festival, celebration of Canada 150, as well as the Mid-Autumn festival celebration, were organized in past year. The Society has achieved historical high sponsorship for the Chinese New Year Banquet, and received highly appreciation from participants and sponsors. Through joint efforts and reputation of Chinese New Year banquet organized by our society, some sponsors began to approach us with initiatives for collaboration. This is a good sign and it indicates that our hardworking is going to be paid off. I am sure the Society will strive to seize the opportunity of expanding its influence while further improving the financial situation. Ultimately, through these collaborations, our member’s welfare will be well guaranteed and enhanced, the mission of our Society will be fulfilled.
The new executive committee has planned a number of events for 2017-2018 fiscal year for our members and friends to connect with each other and to engage with the Society. I sincerely invite you to actively participate in these events, to get involved and to connect with us. We are looking for your continuous support. Your contribution and help are always appreciated.
Please feel free to contact our executive members and Board of directors if you have any comments and suggestion.
Genlou Sun, President
